Nov 05, 2025

Many hotels tend to believe that pure cotton and 100% cotton are the same when making purchases hotel linens. However, there are certain differences between them. Let's explore together how to choose the appropriate hotel linen fabric.

1. Different cotton contents

Pure cotton is made by blending pure cotton fibers with other fibers. According to the regulations, if the cotton content is above 75%, it can be called pure cotton. Among the pure cotton products of hotel linens, there are a wide variety of fabric types, which can meet the individualized needs of different hotels.
100% cotton products contain up to 100% cotton, and their composition is entirely made of cotton. Therefore, "100% cotton" refers to a specific type of pure cotton.

2. Different shrinkage rates

The shrinkage rate of cotton bedding is an important concern for consumers when making purchases. After all, when bedding shrinks, it not only affects its usability but also spoils its appearance, and once washed, it is difficult to restore to its original size.
In this respect, 100% cotton bedding tends to have a more pronounced shrinkage issue. After multiple washes, its size may noticeably decrease, affecting regular use. In contrast, pure cotton blends-containing other fibers-have minimal shrinkage. This characteristic helps the bedding maintain a stable size and good performance even after long-term use and repeated washing, making it a more reliable choice for hotels.

3. Cleaning methods for pure cotton and 100% cotton

Pure cotton fabrics and 100% cotton fabrics should not be washed with hot water. The water temperature should be kept below 35℃. They should not be soaked in detergent for a long time, nor should they be ironed at temperatures higher than 120 degrees, nor should they be exposed to the sun or dried. Hand washing is recommended for cleaning. After washing, it is important to let them dry in a cool and shady place. Use a flat surface or a round rod-shaped clothes drying rack. After drying, it is best to let them air out for half a month before taking them out again for a gentle blow. By regularly maintaining them, their lifespan will be longer.
