How long do the hotel bedding items typically last?

The bedding sets used in the hotel have a certain lifespan. Therefore, in addition to regular washing, the hotel laundry department must also properly maintain and care for the linens to extend their service life and reduce the rate of loss. If linens are used after they have exceeded their usable lifespan, they may become severely damaged. Continuing to use them will negatively affect the hotel's service quality.

In general, hotels keep 3–5 sets of linen in reserve, depending on factors such as occupancy rate, laundry operations, and departmental budgets. The minimum standard is usually three sets: one set in use, one set being washed in the laundry room, and one set stored in the linen warehouse as a backup. However, the laundry room does not replace linens in complete sets or in batches; items are replenished only when they are damaged. So how do we calculate the normal service life of hotel linens, and when should new linens be replaced?

The lifespan of hotel bedding is usually measured by the number of washes. The lifespan of different types of hotel linens also varies. Here are the number of washes for several common types of hotel linens:
100% cotton bedding set: 130 - 150 times.
Blended fabric (50% polyester, 50% cotton): 180 - 220 times.

When the washing frequency exceeds these limits, and the bed cover becomes thin and fragile, loses its luster and loses its elasticity, we should consider replacing it in a timely manner. It should be withdrawn from the service process instead of being used in a makeshift manner. Otherwise, it will affect the service quality and cause losses to the hotel's interests.
